SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Equinor reported the largest production from a Norwegian field in history. In the Troll field in the North Sea, the business produced a peak output of 42.5 billion standard cubic meters (bscm) of natural gas in 2024. With the production of 38.3 bscm in 2022, this represents a remarkable 10% increase.
The record production was ascribed by the corporation to high regularity, a year devoid of turnarounds, and efficiency-boosting enhancements. Additionally, Troll B's productivity was greatly increased by replacing its risers.

The Troll A platform has been the primary source of natural gas production on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) since its inception in 1996. The manufacturing was expanded later in 2021. Gas that is delivered to Kollsnes via Troll A is mostly supplied by the Troll B and C platforms. Carbon dioxide emissions were significantly reduced in 2024 when the Troll B and C platforms were partially electrified. According to calculations, emissions decreased by about 15% in just the preceding year.
Kjetil Hove, Equinor's executive vice president for Exploration & Production Norway commented that the record-high production in 2024, the Troll field confirms its position as a pillar of Europe's energy security. The milestone is the result of decades of focused work, he added.
