Solar roof shingles, an integrated solar roofing solution, are an innovative, aesthetically superior option to standard solar PV panels that serve dual functions: generate electricity and serve as roof covering.  Despite being relatively new to the market, the underlying technology is still the same as that of the solar PV panels and are reliable and durable.

Solar roof shingles are very lightweight with no need for structural reinforcements or analysis.  The shingles are installed directly onto the roof, requiring no roof penetrations or racking, and provide an ultra-smooth low-profile design.  Due to their light weight and smaller dimensions, they can be installed to better take advantage of the available roof space, in many cases, close to 90% coverage, including irregular roofs.Each solar shingle is rated at 14.7% efficiency and is comprised of multiple mono-crystalline cells, providing 60 watts of power, and come with a 25-year power warranty.
