As our £350m plant continues to produce two high value commodities which would previously have been imported; We are becoming one of Europe's biggest bioethanol producers and the UK's largest single source supplier of animal feed.

In simple terms we take feed-grade wheat grown at local farms in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and process it – with no waste – into bioethanol (a green transport fuel that is mixed with regular petrol at the pump) and protein rich animal feed for cows (and other animals too!).

It's that simple – the only catch is that we do it on a massive scale.

Our team of more than 150 highly-skilled people drives our business and will make us one of the leading biofuel and animal feed producers in Europe.

A further 2000+ jobs are sustained directly and indirectly in the UK, through our business across agriculture, logistics, professional services, engineering support and many other fields.

The Vivergo team has been working hard since it was formed in 2007 as a joint venture between AB Sugar, BP and DuPont to create a Biofuel business for the future.

History

Since our formation in 2007 our vision has been to become a biofuels business for the future, providing sustainable energy in terms of both fuel and animal feed.

Our energy matters – in terms of both our people and our products.

Over the last seven years of our site's development, we have pulled together a team of highly skilled individuals who have worked tirelessly to bring the Vivergo vision to life and make the site a reality.

We have an exciting future ahead. Vivergo is ideally positioned for future technology deployment, particularly biobutanol conversion.

People

People are at the heart of our energy. We work together to create a world scale bioethanol business which puts something back into the community and region – economically and socially - in which we live and work.

Our business has thrived partly because we have built a team of people that care deeply for the success and well being of the business and the teams in which they work.

Right from the beginning we have always sought out the best people and we have invested heavily in training and development and building skills for the future. We have brought together a wealth of expertise including secondments from our partners, and utilizing local talent, as well as capacity building with local people.
