History
Veterans Oil began after World War II by John´s father, James Hillary Musgrove. At that time Hillary operated with one small fuel truck and sold heating oil only. After Hillary´s death in the early 70´s, John Musgrove (President) continued in the heating oil business. In 1979, John´s wife Glenda (Vice-President and CFO) began to work in the business and as God blessed and demand grew, they began to add additional products and services for their customers. John and Glendas children also work full time in the business with Jason overseeing the Atlanta, Georgia and Montgomery, Alabama Operations and Laura working as the Payroll Manager, truly making Veterans Oil a Third Generation Family Owned and Operated Business. The Musgroves believe being involved in the day to day activities of the business is part of what makes Veterans Oil "the oil company of choice" in their areas. "As owners and operators that concentrate on good customer relations, we can make sure that our customers are truly satisfied with the products and service they receive." Veterans Oil currently has 44 employees and three facilities in Alabama and Georgia.
SMARTank Monitoring
SMARTank™ is a completely wireless tank monitoring system that requires no external power, telephone connection or control boxes. Monitors can be programmed remotely to report thank levels at a specific time, at predetermined intervals or when a significant change in tank volume is detected. SMARTank can be used in single tank, multi-tank and retail UST controller applications.
Shell LubeAnalyst
Shell LubeAnalyst is a health check for your lubricants and machinery. It is an oil condition monitoring service which helps you keep your business running smoothly by identifying potential oil or equipment failures before they become critical. This program allows participants to monitor and test lubricants and fluids in use by analyzing foreign contaminants and wear particles. Furthermore, Lubrication Engineers may also utilize Shell Oils proprietary R&D Labs in Houston, TX for more extensive testing and metallurgical analysis.
Shell LubeVideo Check
Shell LubeVideo Check is a state-of-the-art fibre-optic tool that allows us to inspect key internal engine components including inaccessible areas such as the cylinder head, valves, cylinder walls and pistons without dismantling the engine itself. All you need to do is remove the injector, glow or spark plug to gain access. Its a cost effective, efficient and non-invasive way of inspecting all engine and equipment components, thereby minimizing the time and costs associated with an engine stripdown and downtime. It allows you to assess the engines condition and spot potential failures before costly mechanical damage occurs.
Shell LubePlanner
The Shell LubePlanner service helps you develop and run a comprehensive lubrication maintenance program for your plant or fleet. Central to the service is a software package that creates a custom-designed lubrication schedule, including product recommendations and maintencance schedules. This program helps you maintain your equipment and ensures you get the right oil, in the right place, at the right time, minimizing costly reactive maintenance and breakdown.
Fuels
When you fill up with Shell, you can relax in knowing that Shell fuels, including Shell V-Power and Shell V-Power Diesel, are backed by unique technological expertise and decades of research and development by some of the best scientists from around the world, all working to help you get the most out of every drop.
Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)
Diesel exhaust fluid is one of the key elements of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) process used by most medium and heavy-duty engine builders to meet EPA 2010 regulations. DEF is not a fuel or a fuel additive. Instead, when injected into the exhaust stream and passed over a catalyst, DEF helps convert NOx into Nitrogen gas and water vapor – two harmless and natural components of the air we breathe. Making sure you do not run out of DEF in a SCR equipped truck is simple – watch the DEF gauge, which is part of the diesel fuel gauge, for when it is time to refill. DEF is stored in a dedicated tank next to the fuel tank on the drivers side. The tanks range in size from 6 to 23 gallons depending on the trucks application. The DEF tank fill opening is designed to accommodate a DEF fill nozzle to ensure only DEF is put into the tank. A diesel fuel nozzle will not fit into the DEF tank opening.
