Vermilion is an international energy producer that seeks to create value through the acquisition, exploration, development and optimization of producing properties in North America, Europe and Australia. Our business model emphasizes free cash flow generation and returning capital to investors when economically warranted, augmented by moderate organic production growth and value-adding acquisitions. Vermilion is targeting growth in production primarily through the exploitation of light oil and liquids-rich natural gas conventional resource plays in Canada and the United States, the exploration and development of high impact natural gas opportunities in the Netherlands and Germany, and through oil drilling and workover programs in France and Australia. Vermilion holds a 20% operated interest in the Corrib gas field in Ireland. Vermilion is targeting production of between 94,000 – 98,000 boe/d in 2020. Vermilion's priorities are health and safety, the environment, and profitability, in that order. Nothing is more important to us than the safety of the public and those who work with us, and the protection of our natural surroundings. We have been recognized as a top decile performer amongst Canadian publicly listed companies in governance practices, as a Climate "A" List performer by the CDP, and a Best Workplace in the Great Place to Work® Institute's annual rankings in Canada, France, the Netherlands and Germany. In addition, Vermilion emphasizes strategic community investment in each of our operating areas. Directors and employees of Vermilion hold approximately 5% of the outstanding shares (fully diluted), are committed to consistently delivering superior rewards for all stakeholders, and have delivered over 20 years of market outperformance. Vermilion trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol VET. Our global headquarters are located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We have paid cumulative dividends of $3.8B, or $40.20 per share, from 2003 through March 2020.* We are focused on providing our shareholders with steady per-share organic production growth at rates that are appropriate to our asset base. Combined, we expect these attributes will provide our shareholders with an investment that delivers strong returns over the long term.
Our Values
Our Values Vermilion’s core values of Excellence, Trust, Respect and Responsibility have guided what we do and how we do it throughout our more than 20-year history. We believe that in order to be successful, a business must prioritize the health and safety of people and protection of the environment over profit. We strive to operate our business in the most environmentally responsible manner possible.
Vermilion understands that we all have a role to play in addressing the environmental impacts of a carbon economy, whether as producers or consumers of fossil fuel energy. That is why we remain committed to minimizing our environmental impact by investing in technologies to maximize energy and water-use efficiency as well as reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. We carefully consider the lands and people impacted by our operations and we treat our people, partners, suppliers, and members of the community respectfully and fairly. We believe that successful, well-managed companies include sustainability as a core element of their business strategy. By emphasizing the importance of sustainability, we are not only mitigating worker safety, public safety, environmental, financial and reputational risks, but we will ultimately generate economic and social benefits for all our stakeholders including those in the communities in which we operate.
