Utility Systems Solutions, Inc. (US2) was founded in 2005 by retired Air Force Col. David Shutler to reduce energy consumption through innovative and intelligent utility solutions. Mr. Shutler’s experience in the military and years working in the energy industry gives him unique insight into improving government energy systems that has benefitted our customers for the past decade.
US2 performs turnkey energy saving projects in steam and electric utilities. We retrofit aging and inefficient infrastructure with state-of-the-art, cost-effective systems that save energy and provide our clients with real financial savings. US2 specializes in design-to-completion projects relating to General Construction, Steam, HVAC, Metering, Lighting, Insulation, and Energy Assessment Analysis.
US2 has extensive work experience and has completed over 180 contracts for Federal clients, including the Air Force and Veterans Administration. Our deep knowledge of federal procurement policy and our quick turnaround time for deliverables in the Pre-construction stages are keys to our success.
Steam Services
With a vision to reduce energy consumption by implementing innovative and intelligent utility solutions, Utility Systems Solutions Inc. (US2) designs, develops and implements energy efficient strategies for both new and aging government facilities. In 2005, many of the projects performed during US2’s first year of inception were performed in VISN 3 for the NY/NJ Veterans Healthcare Network. Many of these were related to steam trap installation, monitoring, and repair.

Lighting Services
US2 provides turnkey projects from lighting energy surveys to installation of necessary lighting and electrical plant, with provision for ongoing measuring of energy utilization. One specific area of expertise is installation of contemporary lighting and lighting control systems. Efficient lighting elements and intelligent systems enable clients to save on energy costs and replacement labor.

Mechanical Services
US2 provides a variety of mechanical services to improve energy efficiency. We primarily work with HVAC, Chillers, Boilers, and Heaters. We can provide retrofits to existing infrastructure, as well as replacement and installation. We offer ongoing service agreements and warranty for all of our quality parts.
