Cogent was founded in 1999 by two principals who believed that their broad experience and knowledge of regulated, vertically integrated electricity markets, frameworks and policies of deregulated energy markets, and rules and resultant dynamics of fully competitive commodity markets would be invaluable in supporting organizations transition to, and thrive in, Alberta's reformed electricity market.
