Taylor Hill Exploration Ltd. (“Taylor Hill”) is a privately owned Canadian petroleum and natural gas exploration company located in Alberta, Canada. The Company conducts exploration and development ventures for itself or third parties in the Western Canada’s natural resources industry. The company’s cost structure for exploration in the Western Canadian basin is amongst the lowest in the industry. As of January 28, 2019 Taylor Hill held an royalty or working interest in 125,183 acres of mineral leases and royalty interests in over 182 wells.  Taylor Hill was incorporated in 1990 under the name ‘414896 Alberta Ltd.’ In the past the company has undertaken petroleum and natural gas exploration consulting projects for third parties, made modest investments in exploration activities including exploration and development drilling, seismic operations. In the last 15 years the company has focused efforts on the acquisition of mineral leases in Alberta which it has marketed for cash, or cash and shares, plus royalties. The head office of is located south of Calgary. Taylor Hill has a small management team that works with a group of equally experienced oil and gas consultants. In many cases, the company’s consultants participate jointly with Taylor Hill in new exploration activity. The President, Stephan R. Benediktson, a Canadian professional geologist and J.G. (Greg) Johnson the consulting landman each have in excess of 37 years petroleum exploration industry experience.  Taylor Hill has concluded numerous transactions with private and public oil and gas companies in Western Canada.  In the vast majority of cases Taylor Hill has retained interests in the prospects which were sold. Often these transactions were done with “startups” and the prospects and leases enabled purchasing companies to raise funds from investors through public financings. In several cases Taylor Hill has taken share positions in ‘start up’ resource companies, which it does transactions with, as partial payment.  Taylor Hill has recently begun to add a new function to its business plan- the management and marketing of other companies’ or owner’s oil and gas lands in exchange for an interest in the associated projects or leases. The company’s “ultra low” cost structure makes this an appealing option for companies or owners that have to compete in today’s high cost environment where their G&A and G&G costs are causing financial stress. As an alternative to surrender and write down of undeveloped acreage costs, Taylor Hill’s involvement can allow companies to ”park” their projects with Taylor Hill while Taylor Hill tries to market them.
