Stream BioEnergy has been established to develop Anaerobic Digestion infrastructure in Ireland to provide an energy efficient and environmentally sustainable means for the management of organic waste.
Currently, much of our biodegradable municipal waste including food and garden waste is sent for disposal to landfill. Other organic wastes including residues from food processing industries, agricultural wastes and animal slurry, are also treated by forms of waste management which allow methane to escape to the atmosphere as the waste decomposes.
These organic wastes can be diverted to Anaerobic Digestion infrastructure where they can be converted into renewable energy and fertiliser.
