Stocker Oil Co, Inc began in June of 1940 when Theodore Stocker, 16 years old, bought Tenny’s Oil Company from Richland Trandella for $45. Ted then started off selling kerosene fuel for lamps and stoves by two-gallon increments at the store. Later, Ted started making deliveries, ten gallons at a time. Suddenly, Tenny’s Oil Company became Teddy’s Oil Service. When World War II began in December of 1940, Ted enlisted in the Navy. With no future plans for the company, Ted gave his customers to Perley Burrill, but when Ted returned in 1946, he got his company back, along with many more customers thanks to Burrill. Over a decade later in the 1960s, Teddy incorporated the business and changed the name to Stocker Oil Inc. He bought an oil truck and pump and has been making home deliveries ever since. In 1975, Teddy sold the business to his son, Richard Stocker, after he had graduated from Northeastern University. Richard has taken the small company seed planted by his father and grown a successful garden. Today Richard’s two children, Mariel and Adam work at the business as well! As a true family business, we hope to continue growing and to offer that same small company hospitality and respect our customers have experienced for over 75 years. We're a full-service company offering automatic delivery, heating system installations and service, and a 24-hour, 7 days a week commitment.
