Headquartered in Staunton, Virginia, Secure Futures combines state-of-the-art solar technology with an innovative business model to make commercial-scale solar power readily affordable in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, helping customers to realize the economic, environmental and community benefits of solar energy.  Secure Futures is a solar developer that finances, builds, owns, operates and maintains on-site solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for schools, hospitals, governments and businesses to enhance their sustainability goals and to reduce their electricity costs.  The company has developed more than 11 megawatts of solar arrays, of which nearly 6 MW are operated under Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), with the rest installed and run through other types of agreements. Altogether these projects generate over 14.7 megawatt hours of clean renewable electricity per year. These solar energy systems will save more than 233,840 metric tons of CO2 over their 35-year lifetime.   Our solar energy systems protect against future electricity price increases through power purchase agreements and solar service agreements. We pass along tax savings to our tax-exempt customers and provide opportunities to purchase on-site solar arrays at fair market value after an initial period. We use high quality solar panels and other equipment while seeking to source labor and professional services locally.  We are also a leader in helping states in our service area to implement public policy that encourages solar power.
