History

In the fall of 1925, Shelby physician, Dr. Stephen S. Royster, seized an opportunity and secured the Gulf Oil Refining Company Distributorship for Cleveland and Rutherford counties.  Over the years and through many changes in the oil industry, our business has grown to include BP, Chevron, & Exxon products in North Carolina and South Carolina. We have increased the size of our business to include distribution centers in Shelby, Gastonia, and Forest City.  We offer a broad range of services from filling an individual homeowners tank with heating oil to providing fuel to industry.  From one case of oil to a tanker load... we can handle any customers needs.

Services

Royster Oil Company is a full service marketer of Chevron, and Coastal Products.    We are also suppliers of unbranded fuel and broker transport loads direct to end users anywhere in North Carolina and South Carolina.    We are a full line lubricant distributor including bulk oil.  We sell, install and maintain petroleum equipment for fuels and lubes.    We also perform tank installations, removals, and environmental services.    We have 3 bulk storage facilities where we can store over 600,000 gallons of fuel, 150,000 gallons of bulk lubricants, and $300,000 of package stock.
