At Renafin we provide debt finance for renewable energy projects. Our primary focus is UK based, medium wind, on-shore wind turbines but we will consider a range of technologies including Anaerobic Digestion and Solar PV. Recognising the need for tailored finance options for both developers and manufacturers, we have put together a comprehensive and competitive range of products.
A combination of rising energy prices, decreasing alternative energy costs and broad government support is driving the high growth of the alternative energy industry and Renafin is ideally placed to support this high growth sector. Our highly experienced team combines expertise in both major project finance deals and the renewables industry and we will work closely with you to identify the best possible option for each development.
Renafin provides access to a range of finance options for renewable energy projects including medium wind, Anaerobic Digestion and Solar PV developments. In the wind sector we focus on UK based, on-shore turbines ranging in size from 50kW to 1.5MW.
We not only provide access to significant project finance, we also bring extensive experience in the management of such projects. We will consider a wide range of developments, provided they have planning approval or are already grid connected.
With the introduction of the Feed-In Tariffs in April 2010, rising energy costs and a continued focus on renewables as an energy source, wind energy offers an excellent investment opportunity. At Renafin, we work closely with our clients to ensure that they obtain access to the best possible finance option, enabling them to maximise their return on investment.
The ability we have to tailor our products to best match your funding requirements is unrivalled in this sector of the renewables market, making Renafin the obvious choice when seeking project finance.
After a successful career in the British Army, Charley returned to civilian life in 1983, joining the insurance industry at Willis Faber's Reinsurance Division serving European and Lloyd's of London Market clients.
By 1991, Charley had set up Grimston Insurance Services to specialise in designing and implementing bespoke insurance programmes for lenders, financial insurance and reinsurance broking with emphasis on non-traditional coverage.
Always an entrepreneur, Charley then formed Hambro Conning Grimston (HCG) in 1993. This was a joint venture with Conning & Co, a US investment bank specialising in the insurance sector, JO Hambro, a UK investment bank and Grimston Investments. HCG Lloyd's Investment Trust was floated on London Stock Exchange, the first quoted underwriting vehicle. Charley was a founder member of Lloyd's Corporate Capital Association, a trade association representing quoted Lloyd's underwriting entities.
In 1999, Charley returned to a full-time focus on Grimston Insurance Services, where he continued his innovation. The result has been, amongst others, the CNC family of companies, including CNC Asset Finance and CNC Asset Management. Common threads through these companies are through their involvement in complex indoor and outdoor industrial machinery from a finance and insurance perspective. Their expertise in this area can be seen by examining their client base which includes Her Majesty's Government and other notable global companies.
Charley has developed a special interest in renewable energy and in 2011 formed an international trade association for old Etonians involved in the sector. Charley is also a member of a consortium established under the Marine Alliance for Science & Technology for Scotland formed to research suitability of sites for tidal and wave energy development.
