About Company

Founded in 1967 by Mr. Joseph Sweeney and Mr. Henry Spoldi, Pico Electronics was established to improve and reduce the size of transformers and converters - which at the time were quite large. They began developing miniature and ultra-miniature units of high quality and reliability for military specifications and commercial air flight applications. With the new technologies that allow for surface mounting and other installation venues, Pico Electronics has come to be known as "the" resource fo anything that fliesusing a miniature conductor or transformer.  Additionally, Pico Electronics became the experts in miniature DC to DC power converters and miniature AC to DC power supplies. Over the years Pico established itself as a leader in high voltage DC to DC output (the high voltage outputs that meet todays modern requirements of up to 10,000 volts DC). Today, Pico Electronics is constantly improving the efficiency of the power source and power factor correction, and is extending their high voltage product line.  Pico offers ultra-miniature packages and high power units (up to 300 watts) as well as regulated, programmable, and dual output packages. They are able to accommodate many different input voltages in both the DC range, anywhere from 5 volts DC to 380 volts DC, and in the AC to DC range, having universal AC input.  The never-ending drive to push the high voltage envelope - and the reduction of the size and weight from rack type systems into brick and half brick modules - is why Pico Electronics DC to DC converters, transformers and inductors can be found everywhere - from the single engine aircraft to the international space station to Sojourner (the mobile module that landed on Mars).

We develop miniature and ultra-miniature units that meet the high quality and reliability specifications of military and commercial flight applications and all other critical applications.  When Pico Electronics was founded in 1967, transformers and converters were still quite large, and not terribly efficient. Our mission was to change that. It wasnt long before we became THE ultra-miniature inductor and transformer resource for anything that requires power conversion.  We then applied our miniaturization expertise into DC-DC power converters and AC-DC power supplies, becoming a recognized leader in high power voltage (up to 10,000 volts) DC-DC output. Today, we offer ultra-miniature, high power (up to 300 watts) units, as well as regulated, programmable and dual output packages. DC input voltages range from 5 to 380 volts; AC input is universal.  Engineering and Application RequestsPricing Assistance and Ordering Information4079 picoelectronics a3cert 2016-2018Pico continues to push the envelope, in both high voltage and miniaturization. Which is why our DC converters, transformers and inductors can be found everywhere from single-engine aircraft to the Mars Sojourner mission. As always, for miniature size and maximized reliability, Pico goes above and beyond for your requirements.

HIGH POWER DC-DC CONVERTERS - COMMERCIAL

Pico is able to provide a wide variety of choices to fit your high reliability requirements for your Industrial and Military designs.  Consider our high power modules for those applications where the output power requirements of up to 300 watts are needed. These units offer the capabilities of handling wide input voltage requirements with a variety of output voltages from 3.3 VDC to 350 VDC. In addition, we have new models that can accommodate higher input voltages up to 900 VDC. With standard operating case temperatures of -40°C and -55°C to +85°C, our fully encapsulated units are ideal for use in harsh environments.  We offer our M, MV, and MR Series that are standard -55°C to +85°C ambient operating temperature modules that are manufactured using MIL qualified components in the manufacturing process. These modules also utilize transformers that are built in-house MIL-PRF-27 QPL assembly line. With output voltages from 5 VDC to an industry leading 500 VDC and the capabilities of customization, we can cover the most stringent requirements to optimize the design for your specifications.

Low Power/High Voltage DC-DC Converters: Up To 10,000V DC Output

Pico Electronics, Inc. is the industry leader for manufacturing high reliability miniature and ultra-miniature passive magnetic components. From the depths of the oceans, to the surface of Mars, Picos transformers and inductors are used in the most rugged applications. Many Pico Transformers and Inductors have passed 300 thermal cycles and have been exposed to a variety of temperature extremes. Our products have been engineered, and designed into, applications throughout the Aerospace, Defense, Space, and Commercial Industries. Where a design demands reliability, when size and weight constraints are a factor, Pico Electronic products are the solution.

POWER FACTOR CORRECTED MODULES

Pico Electronics Power Factor Corrected Series offers a variety of choices from AC-DC power factor corrected modules with universal input voltages and 47-440 Hz operating frequency, power to 2000 Watts to isolated DC outputs from 5-300 VDC output with output power to 300 Watts. Please review our products and feel free to contact us if we can be of further assistance. All units meet the harmonic distortion requirements of EN/IEC 61000-3-2.
