Phoenix Solutions Co was founded 56 years ago as FluiDyne Engineering Corp. At the forefront of aeronautical and aerospace research for more than 40 years, FluiDyne designed and built high temperature aeronautical facilities and conducted aeronautical product testing for clients such as Boeing, General Electric and FFA Sweden.
In 1993 FluiDyne reformed as Phoenix Solutions Co, and became a leader in Plasma Heating Systems. Building on the long history of FluiDyne, Phoenix is the vanguard of innovation in the Plasma Heating industry.
Some milestones from PSC's history include:
1993: Phoenix Solutions delivered its first Plasma Heating System to Kobe Steel, in Japan.
2000: PSC became the largest supplier of plasma technology in the world.
2002: PSC celebrated our 50th year and opened our 3 MW Hutchinson Test Facility.
2004: PSC demonstrated 2,300 hours of electrode life.
2006: PSC began fabrication of corrosion-resistant collimators.
At Phoenix, we are serious about providing solutions. Our designs are built on proven performance, and our R&D and Quality Assurance Programs work together to continually improve the reliability and durability of our systems and parts. Over the last four years, PSC has improved electrode life in harsh process environments.
In 2006 PSC began fabrication on a collimator designed in response to customer feedback. The new design improved collimator performance and durability. At Phoenix Solutions, we continually work with our customers to improve system performance, and to provide the best solutions for them.

Phoenix Solutions Co Plasma Heating Systems are versatile and used worldwide in a variety of applications. Those uses fall into three general categories:
Energy Production - PSC Plasma Arc Torches offer the high temperatures and controllable operating environment required for cutting edge waste-to-energy processes.
Waste Processing - Phoenix Solutions Plasma Heating Systems excel in ash melting applications and waste pyrolysis. PSC systems melt incinerator and fly ash, process nuclear and biomedical waste and destroy PCBs.
Metallurgical Refinement - PSC Plasma Heating Systems offer the intense heat required for metallurgical applications including steel tundish heating, materials processing and nanometric particle synthesis. Our systems are used to recover Platinum Group Metals and cobalt from dross , and to process silicon ingots for solar cell fabrication.
