Pembina Pipeline Corporation is a reliable energy transportation and midstream service provider that has been serving North Americas energy industry for over 60 years. We are Calgary-based, and own a system of pipelines that transport crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids produced primarily in western Canada, as well as gas gathering and processing facilities and an oil and natural gas liquids infrastructure and logistics business. Pembinas integrated assets and commercial operations along the majority of the hydrocarbon value chain allow it to offer a full spectrum of midstream and marketing services to the energy sector.
Our Operations
At Pembina, we are more than pipelines. Pembina represents a pure-play energy infrastructure company that allows investors to participate in the crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids industries across multiples basins and markets throughout Canada and the United States. With strategically located assets and strong demand for our services across an integrated value chain, we have grown to become a leading North American energy infrastructure company that is well-positioned for future growth.
Facilities Division The Facilities Division includes natural gas processing and NGL fractionation facilities and related infrastructure that provide Pembinas customers with natural gas, condensate and NGL services. Pembinas natural gas gathering and processing assets are strategically positioned in active, liquids-rich areas of the WCSB and are integrated with the Companys other businesses. Pembina provides sweet and sour gas gathering, compression, condensate stabilization, and both shallow cut and deep cut gas processing services for its customers, primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts. Virtually all of the condensate and NGL extracted through these facilities is transported by Pembinas Pipelines Division. A significant portion of the volumes are further processed at Pembinas NGL fractionation facilities. In total, Pembina has gas processing facilities with approximately 6 bcf/d of net gas processing capacity. Additionally, the Facilities Division includes NGL fractionation, cavern storage, and terminalling (loading and off-loading services) facilities. These facilities are fully integrated with the Companys other divisions, providing customers across the WCSB and North America with the ability to contract for more than one service with Pembina and access to a comprehensive suite of services to enhance the value of their hydrocarbons. In total, Pembina has fractionation facilities with 326 mboe/d of net fractionation capacity and approximately 14 mmbbls of liquids storage.
To achieve this, Pembinas strategy is to:
Asset Integrity
We know that maintaining the integrity of our energy infrastructure – pipelines, storage tanks, gas processing plants, fractionators and associated facilities – is integral to the health and safety of the communities in which we operate. Not only does a strict focus on safe and reliable operations lessen the likelihood of incidents, it also reduces the cost of our operations over the long term and helps sustain our license to operate. Thats why weve developed, and are continuously improving, our asset integrity management programs. Given the nature of our asset base, our integrity management programs are focused on two core areas: pipeline integrity and facility integrity.
Pipeline Integrity:
Full asset life-cycle program Each year, we dedicate a significant portion of our operating budget to our comprehensive pipeline integrity management activities. Our integrity management program includes the systems, processes, analysis and documentation designed to ensure proactive and transparent management of our pipeline systems. It incorporates industry best practices and is designed to meet or exceed regulatory requirements with the goal of achieving enhanced safety, reliability and longevity through the entire pipeline lifecycle.
