Outrigger Energy II LLC is a private, full service midstream energy company specializing in greenfield project development with current systems operating and under construction in the DJ and Williston Basins.  The company was formed in 2017 after Outrigger Energy LLC sold its assets to Targa Resources and Tallgrass Energy Partners.

Founded in 1988, NGP is a private equity firm making direct equity investments in the energy sector with $20 billion of cumulative equity commitments. The firm is recognized by the industry as setting a standard for portfolio company support, providing resources and creativity to assist the growth of its portfolio companies. NGP partners with “owner-managers” to build growth companies in the upstream, midstream and oilfield services sectors in North America.

Brion G. Wise is a private investor and has over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.  Mr. Wise founded Western Gas Resources, Inc. in 1971 and served the company in various executive and board positions until its sale to Anadarko Petroleum Corp. in 2006 for $5.3 billion.

Proven Success Our team has decades of experience constructing and operating midstream facilities and possesses a strong mix of engineering, operational, and financial expertise. Our extensive knowledge of the midstream business enables us to design and implement timely, innovative and cost-effective solutions for our customers.  From 2014 – 2017, Outrigger developed midstream assets in the Delaware, Midland and Powder River Basins.  In 2017, Outrigger successfully sold its Permian Basin assets to Targa Resources and its Powder River Basin assets to Tallgrass Energy Partners, resulting in an excellent outcome for its customers and investors.  In previous years, Outrigger’s management team has been directly responsible for the construction and operation of gas gathering and processing facilities with over 3 Bcf/d of capacity, over 1 million horsepower of natural gas compression, and over 3,000 miles of natural gas gathering and crude oil gathering  pipeline facilities.
