Orr Energy Group, LLC is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company headquartered in Austin, Texas.  Orr Energy Group and related entities have achieved successful outcomes since 1979.The Orr Energy Group has completed hundreds of wells in the following fields: West Texas, SW Pawnee, SW Speaks, Chapman Ranch, Cage Ranch, SW Kingsville, Jalmat, and La Copita.

Our Team

• Bill R. Orr – Chairman and CEO - Bill Orr has been involved in independent oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) for over 32 years. As chairman, he is responsible for all aspects of the Company’s investment program and strategy as well as overall management. Mr. Orr has completed hundreds of wells and partnered with major E&P companies such as ExxonMobil, El Paso Corporation, Shell Oil Company, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, Kerr-McGee Corporation, BEPCO, Pogo Producing Company, Hunt Oil and Forest Oil Corporation.

• Kirk Scoggins – Chief Operating Officer - Kirk Scoggins has been involved in the oil and gas industry for the past 31 years. Mr. Scoggins is responsible for drilling operations and management. He has spent the last four years leading operations for Lasso Partners, an Orr Energy Group company. Prior to that, he spent eight years as Vice President for Strategic Development and Operations at Raptor Resources, an oil and gas company in Texas. He also has been involved in several notable projects including the Jalmat Field (Lea County, NM) and Orange Dome (Orange County, TX). Prior to joining Raptor Resources, Mr. Scoggins spent 11 years as a financial structuring specialist in the energy finance group at Continental Bank in Houston, TX. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M and an M.B.A. from the University of Houston.

• Doyle A. Valdez – VP – Sales, Infrastructure and Logistics - Doyle Valdez is responsible for day-to-day sales and marketing of oil and gas production as well as production infrastructure. He has been in the energy industry for 31 years. Doyle has held senior positions with United Resources, LP, and EnerPro, Inc. He has conducted operations on over 750 wells, the marketing of oil and gas, as well as pipeline design and construction. Doyle is the past President of the Austin Independent School District Board of Trustees. He serves on the Board of the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders. Doyle holds a B.B.A. with concentration in finance from St. Edward’s University.

• Blake Orr – VP – Business Development - Blake R. Orr is Vice President of business development for Orr Energy Group. Previously, he held leadership positions with Lasso Energy Partners and Orr Holdings, two of the Orr Entities, focusing on deal origination and technical analysis. Prior to joining Orr Holdings and Lasso Energy, Mr. Orr served on the Staff of Carole Keeton Strayhorn as Special Assistant to the Comptroller of the State of Texas on economic policy. Mr. Orr holds a B.S. in Economics and Finance from Southern Methodist University.

• Steven L. Fowler – Chief Financial Officer - Steve Fowler has spent 27 years as a certified public accountant (CPA) in the oil and gas industry. Steve is responsible for the financial management and control of the Company, as well as oversight of all accounting and back office operations. Steve has worked with the Orr Entities for over 20 years. In 1997, Steve co-founded Layton & Fowler, CPAs, LLP. Since that time, Steve has focused on large oil and gas acquisitions, divestitures, related credit transactions and financial analysis. Steve holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from Abilene Christian University.

• Will Winsauer – Finance - Mr. Winsauer has completed more than $1 billion in transactions for companies he has owned and operated. Previously, Mr. Winsauer founded Auto Bond Acceptance Corporation, where he served as chairman, chief executive officer, and majority shareholder. Mr. Winsauer grew Auto Bond Acceptance corporation to 250 employees doing business with 4,000 new car dealers in 31 states. Auto Bond Acceptance Corporation went public in 1996 and completed a secondary preferred stock offering in 1998. Prior to Auto Bond Acceptance, Mr. Winsauer owned Auto Bond, Inc., which was the first company to securitize sub-prime automobile loans and completed 20 transactions in 22 months. Mr. Winsauer has been part of the Orr Energy Group management team since 2012.

• Tony J. Moherek - Geologist / Geophysicist -Performance minded professional petroleum hybrid geologist/geophysicist with 38+ years of exploration & development experience in both conventional and unconventional reservoirs. Rich history of exploratory successes throughout Texas, Louisiana & Appalachian producing trends in the United States most recently in the unconventional Appalachian Marcellus / Utica, Texas Gulf Coast - Austin Chalk /Eaglebine / Eagleford , South Louisiana - Tuscaloosa, Delaware / Permian Basin - Wolfcamp / Bone Springs, Anadarko Basin - Granite Wash trends. Directly responsible for the prospect generation, drill site selection, and completion of over 280 wildcat & development wells during career. Performed extensive 3D interpretation over numerous seismic surveys including designing well locations and / geosteering horizontal subsurface trajectories utilizing geochem, GR correlations and 3D seismic in real-time. Led exploration and development teams at Gulfstream Petroleum, Am-Tex Resources Corp, Suemaur Exploration & Production, Apache Corp, & EDF Trading Resources, LLC. Played key role in successfully marketing over $1.3 Billion in assets throughout the United States. B.S. Geology Rutgers University & M.S. Geological Oceanography, Texas A & M University.
