Newport Biodiesels mission is to recycle New Englands used cooking oil into clean-burning fuel. By doing so, our region will benefit not only environmentally, but also economically. Every gallon we make is one less gallon of imported petroleum that will make its way to our shores.   Newport Biodiesel had humble beginnings in a basement in 2006. Growing pains forced us to relocate, first to the Norman Bird Sanctuary, and then to our current home on Connell Highway. We were incorporated in 2012, welcoming shareholders, new employees, new technology, and new sources of funding. From a few guys in a basement experimenting with alternative fuel, to a 5 million gallon per year facility, our companys success is the result of the hard work and dedication of the people involved.

Biodiesel

Newport Biodiesel produces clean burning fuel to ASTM standards. Our sustainable biodiesel is sourced and produced in New England from second use or waste vegetable oil. It can fuel diesel engines or home heating furnaces without modification. Newport Biodiesel is simple to use, biodegradable, nontoxic, and essentially free of sulfur and aromatics. Newport Biodiesel is ecologically the best and highest use of waste vegetable oil. We are committed to our sustainable model to protect the environment, reduce our carbon footprint, and convert a locally generated waste product into a superior alternative fuel for use around New England.   Nationally recognized for our sustainable business practices, the Newport Biodiesel production team converts every gallon of collected waste oil into on-spec biodiesel using customized equipment and facilities. Since the plant came online in January of 2008, Newport Biodiesel has produced over ten million gallons of alternative fuel for distribution to homes and business in New England. Newport Biodiesel is the high standard for sustainable biodiesel as it does not compete with food production.
