Based in Fulton, Illinois, Midwest BioEnergy, Ltd was founded in 2004 by Holesinger Farms, Inc. The company has since expanded its remit to include other renewable energy alternatives. Through its subsidiary, Midwest Ammonia, LLC, the business is currently in the process of developing a new biogas-to-ammonia plant in Illinois in collaboration with the City of Monmouth. Other projects founded and operated by Holesinger Farms include Clinton Feed & Grain, a high-capacity grain elevator and fertilizer warehouse in Clinton, Iowa, and Clinton County Bio Energy, a 10 million gallons per year biodiesel refinery in Clinton, Iowa. Located on the Mississippi river, the refinery supports the needs of distributors in both Iowa and Illinois.
