The Mauger & Co., Inc. Family of Companies is holding the 6th Annual C.A. Mauger Memorial Golf Outing on June 10, 2019. The event will be held at the beautiful Penn Oaks Club in West Chester, PA. Last year we raised $17,000 for the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation. This year’s event will again, benefit the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation, where $0.97 of every dollar donated goes to help a PA Veteran.

Founded in 1964 by Clyde A. Mauger Jr., we are one of the oldest family owned and operated businesses in Chester County. Clyde A. Mauger, III took over as President in 2002, who everyone knew and respected as “Bud” Mauger. His personality could soften the hardest heart and his smile would light up the room. He and his father defined the word “class.” After the untimely passing of Bud in May 2010 followed by the passing of the revered “Mr. Mauger” at 100 years old in November 2010, the company remained a family owned and operated business. The officers of the company Bud IV, Zach and Kristin along with brother-in-law Phil Robinson, continue the tradition that began over 50 years ago. The foundation that we like to call the “Mauger Principle” on which the company was built: quality products, exemplary service and a neighborly approach at a fair price never go out of style and the family through its dedicated employees endeavor to perpetuate it. The most important tenant of the “Principle” is that a customer will always speak with a live person.  In 1999 Mauger & Company, Inc. purchased Aabbots Energy. The purchase allowed the “Mauger Principle” to be promulgated into Berks, Montgomery, Lehigh, Northampton, Northumberland and Schuylkill counties adding to its base in Chester and Delaware counties.  Again in 2013, Mauger & Company, Inc. strengthened its position by acquiring Plotts’ Energy and its discount arm, Payless Oil Company centered in Royersford, Pennsylvania. In addition, Mauger & Company, Inc. purchased from Plotts’ its 1,685,000 gallon storage tank and loading racks in Spring City, Pennsylvania. This affords our company the ability to pre-purchase oil when the price is low and store it for later use. Our pre-buy and budget programs offer our customers the greatest flexibility along with Price Cap, downward price protection and low prices due to our ability to store oil and negotiate the best prices. In addition, we own two Pacific Pride Card-Lock fleet fueling sites and have many satisfied commercial gasoline and diesel customers.  Finally, our service and installation department is second to none. We offer the top brands and have factory trained technicians who install the heating and air conditioning equipment and then maintain it so it runs trouble free for many years. We are also experts in plumbing and chimney work including the installation of chimney liners. We sell, install and maintain the entire Aprilaire line of products designed to make the air in your home clean and safe to breathe. These include whole house air cleaners, humidifiers, air purifiers and ultraviolet lights. They kill the germs, remove the dust and maintain the moisture level in your home.  You won’t find our name plastered on the windows of the toll booths on the Pennsylvania Turnpike or on the side of buses. Rather than spend huge amounts of money on advertising, we prefer to pass these savings on to you, our loyal customers. Cozy in the winter and comfortably cool in the summer.  Isn’t that how we want to feel when we walk through the front door of our home?  We believe that heating and cooling of the home should be transparent, something about which one rarely needs to think.  Mauger & Co., Inc and it’s subsidiaries has been doing just that for our friends for over 50 years.  Because we call these areas home, we don’t consider our customers to be accounts but rather neighbors and friends.  Many of you will remember the feeling of years past when you didn’t need to lock your front door and your neighbors were almost part of the family.  This is exactly the feeling we try to convey with the “Mauger Principle.”  We want to do all those little things without being asked and always be there when needed.

GAS & DIESEL

Mauger Energy and its sister companies, Aabbots Energy and Plotts’ Energy serve the commercial, industrial, construction, municipal, and farming industries; golf courses, landscapers and back-up generators with gasoline, on and off road diesel fuel and kerosene to nine counties in eastern Pennsylvania.  They include Delaware, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, Lehigh and Schuylkill counties.  Our largest truck can carry 4200 gallons of product and has three compartments along with two different sized hoses each operating at different flow rates giving it maximum flexibility to either quickly drop a large quantity or make a series of smaller deliveries.  Our other “Fleet Fuelers” have the capability to fill individual pieces of equipment on site during off hours saving your company or organization big money in fueling time.  We pride ourselves on being there when you need us.  Our drivers have cell phones so that the key person can communicate directly with the driver when the need is great.  We can often make “same day” deliveries as we recognize that many situations are fluid and ever changing.

ON SITE FUEL

On Site FuelMost commonly known as “Wet Hosing”, we come to your home location or job site before or after working hours and fuel your vehicles so they are ready to go for the next shift. This service provides you with the peace of mind of having one less thing about which to worry, fueling, so that you can maintain your focus on the success of your business.  Have you ever passed a local convenience store early in the morning and see 4 or 5 trucks from the same company there to fuel? Most times each vehicle carries one or more workers other than the driver. So, the truck is in the fueling lane and what happens? The workers being transported get out to go inside the local convenience store to buy their breakfast. Now the driver has finished fueling. What happens next? He parks the truck so he can get his breakfast. Now, everyone can go to work even though they have already been on the clock for ½ hour. Let’s recap at the minimum – 2 people in each of 4 trucks; 15 minutes to fuel; 15 minutes for the driver to park, get his breakfast and round up his helper. Thirty minutes’ times eight men at say, $15.00 per hour just to fuel the trucks. Over five days at $60.00 per day you have paid $300.00 extra to fuel four trucks. Many people tell me that the local convenience store’s fuel is cheaper. Is it?

OFF ROAD DIESEL

Although in the context of the clear diesel fuel that powers the engine of the trucks that keep America’s shelves stocked with food and other necessities of life, dyed or “Off-Road” diesel might seem like a fourth cousin. In reality it is a long way from being a distant relative, no pun intended. Just ask our client, the owner of an ice rink who, without the dyed diesel that runs his emergency generators, would have a huge puddle of water and a loss of tens of thousands of dollars if the power went out. Or the large water company client of ours who goes into a state of panic when a bad storm is predicted, wanting their emergency generator tanks topped off immediately. One of our municipal clients, a Township called us at 3:00 PM to tell us that one of their generator tanks had failed. This was a large tank and it backed-up their water treatment plant operations. They had already found a new tank that was on its way and, after its installation they wanted a delivery. We made the delivery at 8:00 PM on a Friday night.
