Saerbeck are pioneers in the local energy transition. Sustainability and climate protection determine our mission statement. We set out in 2009 with the goal of being climate neutral by 2030 and have already achieved a lot. We generate more electricity from renewable sources than is used locally. The Saerbeck climate commune is a certified educational location for sustainability and part of the international network of Climate Smart Municipalities. Saerbeck sees itself as a competence center for renewable energies and welcomes guests from all over the world.
