J. T. Alexander and Son, Inc. was founded with a promise to our customers to deliver quality petroleum industry products at a competitive price in a timely manner. This promise has allowed us to expand beyond the county lines of Iredell County, North Carolina to become a major regional supplier of quality petroleum products through North and South Carolina..

Our History

John T. Alexander founded J. T. Alexander and Son, Inc. in 1935 after he bought a Texaco commission agency in Mooresville, NC. He was joined by his son, Tom Alexander, in 1961 after Tom returned from UNC Chapel Hill and the U.S. Navy.  In 1978, J. T. Alexander and Son, Inc. became a Texaco distributor serving the Piedmont of North Carolina. Since then, JTA has expanded into a major marketing presence in both North and South Carolina with the Shell and BP brands.

Our Team Leader

 David Alexander joined the organization in 1994. David is a board member of the National Association of Shell Marketers (NASM) and has previously served on the North Carolina Petroleum Marketers Association (NCPMA). A graduate of the College of Charleston, David is also a licensed contractor and real estate broker in North Carolina.

Transportation - Crossroads Petroleum Transport, LLC 

Established in 2008, Crossroads Petroleum Transport, LLC is a solely-owned subsidiary of J. T. Alexander & Son, Inc.  Crossroads is equipped with well-trained drivers and support staff to ensure that our products are delivered in a safe and timely manner.  Hauling our own petroleum products allows us to deliver on short notice to and maximize profits in a volatile price environment.

Site Development 

Our construction and real estate experts are available to guide you through your project from beginning to end. From a simple remodel to a ground-up site evaluation, site design and construction management, we can minimize the headaches involved with construction and development.  Along with providing quality Shell, BP and Marathon petroleum products, we can also provide support for employee training, site marketing, start-up orientation and environmental compliance.  A number of lease locations are available to dealers within our network.

Commercial & Government Fuel 

J. T. Alexander & Son, Inc. offers a full spectrum of commercial and government fuel supply solutions. We can sell off the rack on a daily basis or on a contract basis to minimize your exposure to the volatility of the petroleum market.

JTAFUEL Fleet Card 

We also offer a full line of fleet solutions with our JTAFUEL Fleet Card. Our fleet cards allow you to track the purchases of your fleet and company employees. Our cards may be used at any of the more than 40 locations supplied by J.T. Alexander and Son, Inc.
