Jernigan Oil Company, Inc., is a full service petroleum products distributor in Ahoskie, North Carolina. We proudly offer quality Shell® and Duck Thru fuels and LP gas to homes, farms, and businesses. Jernigan Oil Company is the parent company of Duck Thru Food Stores, with over 50 locations throughout Southside Virginia and Northeast North Carolina.  Jernigan Oil and Duck Thru Food Stores is a family owned business and prides itself in treating customers and staff like members of their own family! 

COMPANY HISTORY

  Jernigan Oil Company was founded by L.S. Jernigan Sr. and his son L.S. Jernigan Jr. in June of 1948. Jernigan Oil Company is still owned and operated by members of the family, with Michael Harrell serving as President today.  Michael is a fourth generation family-owner and succeeds his father James “Duck”​ Harrell. “Duck”​ and his wife, Jerri Harrell owned and operated the company from 1982 to 2006, with “Duck”​  serving as President for all 24 Years.  In 1983, Duck opened his first convenience store, Duck Thru Food Store #1, located in Murfreesboro North Carolina. In 2006, Michael and wife Billie-joe Harrell acquired Jernigan Oil and Duck Thru Food Stores from “Duck”​ and Jerri. At the time of acquisition, “Duck”​ had built and acquired more than 24 convenience stores, marking Duck Thru as the largest family owned convenience store chain in Eastern North Carolina. Since, Michael has continued to grow the business with more than 50 locations in Southside Virginia and Northeast North Carolina.

Jernigan Oil Company is pleased to be your full-service LP Gas Provider. We offer packages that cover the whole range of your LP gas needs, from initial setup to long-term maintenance and fill. Our propane services are suitable for home heating as well as commercial/industrial needs. We offer options of LP Gas fill to match your schedule and budget.

Tanks 120 to 1000 gallons

We offer a range of tanks to suit your needs, from 120 to 1000 gallons in volume. Tanks are purpose-built for your needs, and vary depending on whether you require above-ground or underground installation.

Tanks larger than 1000 gallons

Individual super-tanks more than 1000 gallons in volume are notoriously bulky and difficult to maneuver. Having such tanks above-ground creates an eyesore, while burying them requires shifting an inordinate amount of soil.  Any order that requires more than 1000 gallons of LP Gas at one location receives a connected network of smaller tanks that total up to the desired volume of on-site fuel storage. Clients can request as much LP Gas storage as they wish while still using unobtrusive and efficient fuel tanks.

Fuel & Gasoline Services

Jernigan Oil Company delivers multiple grades of gasoline as well as clear and dyed diesel and kerosene. Loads of all products are available on Tank Wagon and Petroleum Transport Trucks to an array of customer types, including marinas, farmers, loggers, construction groups, etc. Tank Wagon deliveries vary between 200 & 3000 gallons, while transport deliveries vary between 3000 & 8800 gallons.

What is a Jernigan Oil/Duck Thru Fleet Fueling Card?

Jernigan Oil offers fleet fueling cards for individuals as well large corporations. The Jernigan Oil fleet fueling card is a credit card that can be used at all Duck Thru locations to purchase all products including gasoline, fuel, merchandise, food, and all other items at the location. The fleet fueling card gives you and your company the convenience to purchase items now to be billed at the end of the month! Jernigan Oil sends monthly statements that can be paid online and in-person.

What are the advantages?

• Control – Jernigan Oil fleet cards allow you to have control of your fleet by restricting items that are purchased on a card by card basis. Allow your employees or family members to purchase gasoline only, or anything available in the store!
• Security- Each Jernigan Oil fleet card is secured by a four digit pin as well as a signature. This ensures safety of a lost or stolen card and gives you piece of mind that no one will be shopping on your dollar!
• Convenience- Purchase now and pay later! Jernigan Oil fleet cards give you the ability to purchase items and petroleum products at all Duck Thru location which is then billed in an easy to read monthly statement.
• Reporting – Jernigan Oil fleet cards gives your company the ability to see who is purchasing what and when they are purchasing it. Jernigan Oil fleet cards also have the ability to request odometer readings prior to all fuel and gasoline purchases.
