Mission Statement
Promote the use of natural gas to the fullest possible extent for the mutual interests of our members and public.

About Us
The INGA is comprised of natural gas utilities, heating and appliance dealers, municipal gas systems, equipment manufacturers, distributor, and suppliers, advertising and media organizations and affiliated members from the State of Iowa.

The association has supported and promoted many natural gas activities during the past 25 years. The association was first organized in the early 80’s and was known as the Iowa Blue Flame Association. In the late 90’s the name was changed to Iowa Natural Gas Association.

The association promotes the safe installation of gas appliances, piping and venting operations. Copies of the latest National Fuel Gas Code 2006 (NFPA 54) are available. We have conducted seminars at various locations in the state on its application.

To further the mission of Iowa Natural Gas Association We:

• Will disseminate information on efficient methods of distributing, selling, and using natural gas.
• Inform the public of the uses for natural gas.
• Provide education to those people interested in the natural gas industry.
• Cooperate with others interested in any field of the gas industry by interchanging information, facilities, methods, and ideas for the betterment of the gas industry and its customers.
• Encourage and assist members in sharing information designed to achieve operational excellence.
• Aid the industry to produce, store, manufacture, transmit, distribute, sell, and furnish gas at a cost commensurate with safe and adequate service, giving due regard to the interest of consumers, investor, and employees.
• Encourage research to maintain information for study in various fields of the gas industry.
• Assist members in their efforts to identify customer energy needs and emerging natural gas markets.
• Serve as a voice on behalf of the natural gas industry and emphasize the benefits of natural gas before a variety of audiences.
