Himark BioGas Inc. is a leading Waste-to-Energy technology and engineering services company. Not just another anaerobic digestion technology!

IMUS™ is a unique technology that takes advantage of Anaerobic Digestion to reduce organic material into combustible biogas that can be used as a renewable replacement for natural gas – often burned on-site to make 100% renewable base load electricity. IMUS™ High Solids Infeed System is capable of converting all of these materials into a pump-able liquid that is primed and ready for the biological activity that will occur inside the carefully calibrated conditions in the IMUS™ digesters.
This ensures stable anaerobic digestion and this, amongst other design features, contributes to maximum renewable energy production from any given organic waste.

IMUS™ converts social, environmental and economic hazards of organic waste into solutions. IMUS™ destroys all pathogens in the material that often causes human, animal or plant health problems. Moreover, fertilizer products from IMUS™ have a very positive impact on soil health and moisture retention, leading to overall improvements in agricultural conditions. IMUS™ is designed to work in complete integration with other industrial processes in order to create the most value from an IMUS™ system.
Multi-Feedstock System

The IMUS™ Multi-Feedstock System can process virtually any organic material. With the application of Himark’s technical and operational expertise, proprietary recipes are created for the output of maximum operational stability and an outstanding bioProduct. IMUS™ derives high digestion productivity and optimizes bioGas yield even with mixed feedstocks.

High Solid In-Feed System

The Heterogeneous solid and liquid waste streams that are fed simultaneously into the IMUS™ unit through the patented High Solid In-Feed System deliver the finest bio-available mixture to the Digester Core.

Digester Core

The Digester Core of the IMUS™ system is comprised of multiple primary, secondary and tertiary digesters that maximize the bioGas yield and bioProduct value from the waste materials while minimizing the system’s capital cost.
The Digester’s configurations are designed to suit the unique characteristics of each waste management challenge and satisfy every energy need.


Clean Slate™

Digester maintenance can be costly and downtime equates to lost revenues. Himark’s Clean Slate™ Technology separates non-digestable materials from the waste stream during the digestion process and is essential in reducing the cost of managing heterogeneous waste.

Active Access™

Active Access™ Technology permits continuous maintenance of digesters without interrupting bioGas production. Coupled with Himark’s expertise, IMUS™ systems provide the highest levels of productivity and revenue generation.

H2S Scrubber

Our H2S Scrubbers remove the hydrogen sulphite and water vapor found in biogas, as their corrosive property results in the reduced life of Combined Heat and Power unit (CPH) and boilers.

Integrated Bio Refinery™

The bioUtility™ is a key component in Himark’s Integrated Bio Refinery™ model and synchronizes systems to create renewable natural gas and value-added bioProducts. The bioUtility™ can be employed with varying degrees of automation to control on-site bioGas usage and power consumption, and regulate supplies to external markets.

IMUS™ Nutrient Recovery

The IMUS™ Nutrient Recovery System continuously extracts mature digestate from the Digester Core and separates digestate into its liquid and solid components. Himark’s technology has been proven to provide complete pathogen and weed-seed destruction, generating bio-based liquid and solid nutrient products. Separated liquids are well suited for pump irrigation, while solids can be pelletized and distributed to improve the physical and chemical composition of soils.
