HD Mining International Ltd. is a Canadian incorporated company and is the proponent of the Murray River Project, which will create 600 direct jobs and 700 indirect jobs through the construction and operating phases. To-date, HD Mining has invested more than $90 million on the project.
- Environment Minister Mary Polak and Energy and Mines Minister Bill Bennett have issued an environmental assessment certificate to HD Mining International Ltd. for the Murray River Coal project on Oct 1st, 2015.
- Once operating, the Murray River Project would create approximately 600 direct and 700 indirect jobs. To-date, HD Mining has invested more than $90 million on this Project. It includes $15 million for a housing development for workers, the largest housing development in the history of Tumbler Ridge.
- HD Mining has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Northern Lights College to develop a training curriculum for long-wall mining. As part of the MOU, Northern Lights College and HD Mining will develop a relevant curriculum and simulation models, and identify partners for program infrastructure. Northern Lights College and HD Mining will work to deliver this training in Tumbler Ridge and to include key community partners in the development and delivery of the training.
