Now here's a nifty little invention from one of the most prolific American minds of the 20th century,  Thomas A. Edison. On New Year's Eve 1879, this simple glass tube lit up the world and changed the way we lived forever.

For nearly 30 years now, The Hammonds Companies have been doing things in much the same way. Carl himself shares a few more inventor characteristics with ol' Thomas Edison, it seems. He always begins his process with the end in mind, carefully considering the problem to be solved first, then working toward the solution. Not the other way around.  Further, he thinks long-term, practical and ease of use when designing a new product or engineered system that bears his name. These, too, were the hallmarks of Edison invention.
