Hamilton Utilities Corporation is a holding company entirely owned by the City of Hamilton.  HUC was established in response to the restructuring and deregulation of Ontario’s electricity industry in 2000.  Today it owns and operates two businesses, HCE Energy, Inc. and HCE Telecom Inc as well as holding a minority share of Alectra Utilities.

HUC has adopted a triple bottom line approach to quantifying Shareholder value that includes:
