Haly Oil, now Haly Home Comfort, started in 1985 with one truck and one customer.  Delivering home heating oil was the initial focus, but it wasn’t long before a service department was added.    The company continued to grow, gradually expanding its offerings to include a full-service heating/cooling (HV/AC) department.  In 2006, Great Valley Propane (GVP), a full-service propane company, was added. Currently, the company is expanding its products to include HomeWise, a comprehensive offering to residential customers that includes home security equipment, installation and automation.   Today, as the 35th anniversary approaches, the mission-driven Haly Companies strive to provide home comfort and energy services around the clock in the most customer-friendly way possible. And, Walter “Bud” Haly, owner and co-founder, continues to put customers and the community first, just as he did when he began delivering oil in 1985.  “We’re a family-owned business,” Bud says. “We live where you live, we raise our kids here, and we strive to have a positive impact on the environment. Our community is your community, and your friends are our friends.”

How Haly Began

How Haly Home Comfort Began and his father, Walter ‘Spud’ Haly, Bud’s personal style and customer service-oriented approach quickly set Haly Oil apart from the competition. Being a Haly Company, GVP upholds the same standards and beliefs.  Being undecided about a career path when he graduated from Great Valley High School in 1985, Bud went to work for a friend who had started his own oil company and needed help making deliveries. Bud worked with him for a bit and learned the ropes is something he feels strongly about and aims to pass on to every employee.

The Growing Business

When Haly Oil first started, heating oil deliveries was the sole focus. Bud’s personal style and service-oriented approach quickly set Haly Oil apart from competition. In an effort to help customers with their heating and cooling needs all around, a Service Department was added. Haly became known for more than just heating oil.  Great Valley Propane (GVP), Haly’s sister company was also a huge advancement for the Haly Companies. Being a Haly Company, GVP upholds the same standards and beliefs as Haly and also continues to grow.

Constant Comfort Guarantee

Our Constant Comfort Guarantee is the first of its kind in our industry and something that we take very seriously. We pride ourselves on doing everything in our power to keep all of our customers comfortable all year round. That means that in the winter it is our top priority to keep all of our automatic delivery customers warm all season long, no matter what comes our way.  Our Constant Comfort Guarantee is our promise that we will never let an Automatic Delivery customer run out of fuel during the heating oil season (October – April). We are so committed to this promise, that if we do break it, we will give you $50 credit on your account for the inconvenience.

Safety & Efficiency Agreement (SEA)

Our signature Safety & Efficiency Agreement is one of the most comprehensive service agreements anywhere – designed to ensure your heating and/or cooling equipment gets a thorough yearly tune up, safety and efficiency check. With the plan you’ll be considered a preferred customer, and you’ll receive priority service with discounts up to 15% on most repairs. You’ll never pay overtime rates and we always tell you the repair costs before they are made with a Haly SEA.
