Calvin Green delivered the propane gas off a well used 1957 Chevy bobtail while his wife Billie kept the books from a desk in the dining room of their home. Along the way they raised a son Hershal who joined the family business and had two sons of his own Mike and Bill whom operates the business today. From that small desk and truck came the humble beginnings of our family business.We’re proud to serve counties in both Alabama & Georgia!

OUR HISTORY

Green’s Propane Gas Co. Inc. was established in December of 1962 in Smiths Station, Alabama. Calvin Green delivered the propane gas off a well used 1957 Chevy bobtail while his wife Billie kept the books from a desk in the dining room of their home. Along the way they raised a son Hershal who joined the family business and had two sons of his own Mike and Bill whom operates the business today. From that small desk and truck came the humble beginnings of our family business. Our community has changed over the years, however our mission has remained the same; to provide our customers with the safest, most dependable and efficient propane service available. We would like to thank our loyal customers and welcome all potential consumers. For over 50 years, our customers have made us who we are and will be the largest element that shapes our future. We work hard to earn and keep your propane gas business regardless of your energy usage. We are family owned and operated, now in our third generation. We promote a family atmosphere in the workplace, employ local people and operate with the same kinds of values you nurture in your family. We have designed our website as a means to better serve our customers and introduce our company to new clients. Residential & Commercial Propane Delivery

• Our “AUTOMATIC DELIVERY” is our most popular delivery option and allows us to make a delivery to your tank anytime our degree day based estimated records indicate that your tank level is below 40%.
• The ETM option uses a cellular device connected to the tank’s gauge to send a signal every 24 hours to our office software so we know your exact propane level. The ETM option also allows the customer to monitor their tank level and propane usage on smart phone with an easy to use app. The electronic tank monitoring option when combined with the automatic delivery service gives you the peace of mind to know that they will not run out of propane gas. (NOTE: There may be an extra charge for ETM, please call for information.)
• The “WILL CALL” option is when you chooses to call when a delivery of propane is needed. It is suggested that if a customer chooses this option they contact our office before the tank reaches 20% giving us plenty of time to schedule the delivery on the regular route day. Do NOT let the tank run empty! If a delivery is needed before the regular route day, remember you do not receive your route day discount and may incur additional charges for priority service or leak test.
• The “TIMED DELIVERY” option lets you choose which months you receive a delivery of propane on your scheduled route day. This option is very helpful if you only need one or two deliveries a year.
