G2 Petroleum, LLC is a privately held oil & gas company whose main focus is development drilling of conventional vertical wells primarily in shallow oil sands of North Texas. The company was founded in 2008 by Cotton Graham who built this company to fulfill his goal of providing unwavering transparency to G2 Petroleum’s family of investors. Along with our sister company, Newport Operating, we have identified a niche market opportunity in Wichita County that has produced over 855 million barrels of oil to date. By drilling in a proven area, our drilling costs are much lower compared to unconventional or deeper, more expensive resource plays. Our geologist has worked this area for 40 years and his experience allows us to enhance our profitability by understanding the geology and history of the field. This knowledge guides us on where or where not to drill, resulting in our 95% success rate.

Our History

G2 Petroleum LLC, founded by Cotton Graham in 2008, is a company known for its innovative pursuit of oil. In 10 years, G2 has acquired interest in the top producing oil fields in America and has shown consistent growth even during the oil crashes of 2008 and 2014.  G2’s commitment to investor transparency was highlighted in 2014 when, despite oil dropping to $27/barrel, Cotton signed oil leases on over 2000 acres in Burkburnett, Texas and created the operating company, Newport Operating LLC. Newport allows Cotton to oversee shallow-well production and development while providing fact-driven information to G2’s investment partners.

Well, it doesn’t hurt when you’re a family-owned company because we can ensure a high level of company buy-in.  But more than that, Newport allows us to operate inside a very specific niche. While it’s not uncommon for oil investment companies to have good offerings, we separate ourselves by using our past field experience to efficiently tackle the unavoidable bumps in the road associated with production. Furthermore, we’re often privy to specific types of information that generally are not shared between drilling contractors and venture capitalists. Our ability to relay key information to our family of partners is key in maintaining our reputation. The ability to combine low operating expenses with high-volume, shallow-well drilling methods allows us to do what we do best. And what we do best is staying consistent. We know every well can’t be a winner, but when 73 of our last 77 wells drilled have hit oil, it sure feel likes it.

Services

While it’s a perfectly normal practice for venture capital companies to hire contract operators, it’s just not our preferred style of business. Cotton and his team have worked tirelessly to bring the standard of G2 Petroleum to new heights by putting in the necessary time and effort to make Newport Operating a 5 star operating company.  What does that mean? It means that partnering with G2 Petroleum LLC comes with a theoretical vested interest in their own oil production. Newport’s connection to G2 correlates with Newport’s owning of equipment, trucks, leases, and everything needed to operate which minimizes the need to hire subcontractors for production services. In addition, we work our leases with over 30 direct, staff members and leading industry partners, which lowers expenses and maximizes profitability. With the help of our trusted partners we are able to handle almost every step of the drilling process in-house.

The Process From Idea to Production:

• G & G review– Perform geological and engineering review.
• Title Review – Run and search title of property to current owner.
• Acquire Oil and Gas Lease – Negotiate, sign and pay for an oil and gas lease.
• Survey & Permit – Our geologist determines the drill site. The site is then surveyed and applicable permits obtained.
• Drilling & Logging – The “borehole” is drilled, and data regarding the rock formations is logged.
• Casing & Cementing – 30 ft. single-joint tubing is placed in the “borehole” and held in place with cement.
• Perf & Test – A hole is punched through the casing to access the reservoir, and the well is tested to determine if fracking is necessary.
• Fracking – If needed, a fracking solution is pumped into the well creating channels that allow hydrocarbons to flow.
• Completion – A custom completion setup and pump jack are used to extract the oil, which is then stored on-site until purchased.
