Fountain and Sons was originally McCarthy Bros. which was started in the early 1950s by Leonard McCarthy.  James Fountain was employed by Leonard for 7 years.  In that time he was a truck driver, general laborer and whatever else they needed him to be.  When McCarthy decided he wanted to sell, Jim came forward and purchased the company on December 11th 1989.  At that time, the business had about half of the customers that they currently have now. A lot of our customers have been with us since the beginning, we try to go that extra mile.  Offering a 24 hour service department, same day deliveries, discounts, fuel assistance, and just treating customers with the respect that they deserve, because without them we would not be here.  Since Jim was born and raised in Warren, we pride ourselves on keeping local people employed.  Some of our employees have been with us for over 10 years including Jims sons, Steve and Mike.  He is teaching them all the aspects of the business, the same way he learned them through hard work and dedication.  Over the years we found ourselves getting into construction as well.  Starting out small and growing into what weve become today.  Weve built 80 plus homes and done numerous commercial jobs.  A couple of our proudest accomplishments would be constructing Village Point Plaza in West Warren, and building Scottish Meadow Golf Club start to finish.  Fountain and Sons have now been around for twenty years and with the help of the community we hope to be around for a hundred more.

We would like to take this time to thank you for letting us be your fuel oil company.  We really do appreciate your business.  Also, we would like to inform you of new state regulations starting July 1, 2010.  There will be a required mixture of bio-fuel in kerosene, home heating oil, and off-road fuel that comes directly from our distributor.  This new blend will be "Greener" to the environment.  In addition, all oil lines, from oil tank to heating system, must be sleeved or coated.  If you are unsure if your line will comply, please give us a call and we will check it for you.
