ENVITRANS® was incorporated in 2010 as Envitrans InfoSolutions Private Limited, active in the area of environmental sciences. Today, ENVITRANS® is a specialist environmental service provider in India with key expertise in the fields of computational modeling, environmental data processing, environmental information management systems and training.
Air Dispersion Modeling Services
Dispersion modeling is a mathematical simulation of how air pollutants disperse in the ambient atmosphere. Dispersion modeling uses mathematical equations and algorithms to characterize the atmospheric processes that disperse an air pollutant emitted by a source.
Dispersion models are used to estimate or to predict concentrations at selected downwind receptor locations of air pollutants emitted from sources such as industrial plants, mines, vehicular traffic or accidental chemical releases.
These models are used to determine compliance with National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), and other regulatory requirements. The Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) requires the background air quality levels to be reported in all Environmental Impact Studies (EIA) with the predicted values based on dispersion models.
Noise pollution is unwanted or excessive sound that can have deleterious effects to human health and environmental quality. In recent times noise pollution has been increasing rapidly causing serious threat to environmental quality. . Increase in noise pollution has also been causing negative impacts on the human health. Exposure to higher noise levels may lead to aggression, hearing loss, stress, sleep disturbance and so much more psychological issues.
One of the main sources of noise pollution is transportation, especially noise generated by road traffic. Other major sources such as factory machinery, construction equipment, power tools, DG Sets and loudspeakers can also cause noise pollution. Among all these motor vehicles are the dominant sources of noise pollution.
The problem of Noise pollution has gained significant attention from the environmental point. The Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) has recognized the problem and notified noise related regulation like Environment (Protection) second Amendment Rules, 2002 and Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2010. These regulatory requirements emphasize on the application of noise control measures. The forecasting the impacts of noise from various sources using environmental noise modeling will certainly provide valuable input in decision-making. The noise models describe the process of theoretically estimating noise levels within a region of interest under a specific set of conditions. Noise Model can be used to identify the receptors exposed to excessive noise and enables the implementation of mitigation measures which also could include sound barriers.
Meteorology plays a significant role in environmental pollution studies, especially in air pollution, and it is necessary to obtain site specific / representative database. ENVITRANS® has experts in setting up site-specific meteorological stations and provide pre-processed meteorological data sets for use in air quality models.
We generate quality air dispersion model-ready meteorological data files on demand. Besides site specific data generation, ENVITRANS® can also provide pre-processed meteorological data for more than 600 stations across India. All raw data handled by our staff are quality-checked and filled according to the U.S. EPA Meteorological Monitoring Guidance for Regulatory Modeling Applications procedures.
