We also built a large development portfolio of wind projects, which is now part of a strategic development agreement with International Power, which is part of GDF Suez.

In 2010 Element Markets acquired North America’s largest anaerobic digestion project, the Huckabay Ridge facility in Texas, which produces pipeline-quality biomethane. We are developing and constructing several more landfill gas-based biomethane projects that we will own and operate. We also provide biomethane marketing services to third-party projects. Biomethane currently sells at premiums over traditional natural gas due to the value of the environmental credits produced through the use of renewable fuels. We currently market biomethane from our clients’ operating high BTU projects representing over 2.5 million MMBTUs annually, enough to power more than 26,000 homes or 36,000 cars. Whether we are purchasing the biomethane directly or marketing biomethane on behalf of our clients, Element Markets knows how to structure the optimal solution.
