EDGE Energy is a highly-regarded Residential, Commercial, and Government renewable energy systems installer and “green” building contractor which is licensed, insured, and bonded in all counties of VA, DC, and MD.  EDGE Energy has a strong background in energy efficiency and has been performing energy audits and green construction services since 2006. The Company works with property owners designing and installing energy-efficiency solutions, testing to DOE-compliant Quality Control (QC) guidelines, and implementing renewable energy systems such as Solar, PV, Wind, Geothermal, and co-generation (combined heat and power) solutions.  All EDGE Energy project managers are accomplished building scientists and each generally carries multiple certifications from standards like ICC, ACCA, RESNET, BPI, NABCEP, NCI, LEED, and others. The Company is a BPI “Accredited” Contractor meaning every completed performance-based job is post-tested and results are reported to the owner, local utility company, and Dept of Energy (DOE) on a yearly basis.  The Company also employs a specially-trained work force of retrofit installers and works with federal and state governments on low-income weatherization projects receiving ARRA, TARP, and CBDG-R black grants. As such and for over 4-years, we have maintained Davis-Bacon compliant payroll reporting and our average construction worker is paid (on average) over 200% of MD Living Wage requirements.  In addition to our green-certified Energy Auditing, renewable energy Systems Designs, Project Management, and Construction services, we also provide industry leading best-practices on all of our solar installs. An EDGE job-site supervisor is assigned to oversee your entire home performance project from start to finish. Any crew supervisor (in our employ) must possess not only 5+ years of field experience, but must also demonstrate superior customer service. Your job-site supervisor will keep you well-informed on the status of your project, answer your questions, and address any concerns.

Quality Personnel & Expert Training

EDGE employs a staff over 60 people across five states, and we have over ten years of energy consulting experience performing ASHRAE, RESNET, BPI (and other) certified energy audits and related diagnostic building tests like duct blaster, blower door, and combustion safety tests throughout the MD, DC, and VA.  We have won numerous training grants over the years through workforce development programs, DOE training grants, and through state contracts. Today, we have dozens of BPI and RESNET certified individuals.  We have pioneered new building science credentials as they came out. For example, we have five BPI Quality Control Inspectors (QCI) on staff in addition to two employees becoming BPI Healthy Home Evaluators (HHE) in the recent pilot phase.
