About Company

DrySoTec GmbH - the specialists on the subject of flue gas cleaning

We are your partners

for innovative, ecologically and economically optimized state-of-the-art cleaning of flue gases.
Our many years of experience working with the methods:

Dry absorption
Spray absorption
MKT systems
Wet scrubbing
As well as combined systems
enable us to solve your problem definition in an optimum manner.

Range of application

Our flue gas cleaning plants cover almost all areas where incineration takes place, among others:

Bio mass incineration
Substitute fuel power stations
Household and hazardous waste incineration
Ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgical processes
Sewage sludge incineration
Industrial firing and waste gases (glass, ceramics, used tyres…)
Depending on the raw gas situation and the required clean gas values, our plants are designed as tailor-made solutions for the respective application on the basis of BAT criteria (BAT = Best Available Technology).

In order to support our customers in making the correct decision, we study and compare on the basis of our many years of experience the use of conventional additives (lime materials) as well as the use of new, highly efficient additives (NaHCO3(Bicar) and activated coke) in the respective processes.

In addition to the separation of acid waste gas components, we also offer the reduction of the NOx emissions based on the methods of non-catalytic and catalytic reduction.

The outstanding features of our systems are:

Values stay safely below applicable limits (even in extreme situations)
Simply-to-operate technology, hence safe operation
Minimized investments in relation to performance
Low maintenance effort and costs
Additional cost advantages due to further exploitation of the flue gas heat.

DrySoTec GmbH was set up in January 2004 by the two managing directors Dr. rer. nat. Bernd Morun and academically qualified engineer Paul-Udo Schmidt as an innovatively active plant engineering company in the sector of flue gas cleaning.

The two partners of the company alone contribute 35 years of focussed knowledge in process engineering, process development and project handling in the sector of wet, semi-wet and dry flue gas cleaning.

On this basis, the concept emerged of only developing and building ecologically and economically feasible processes.

Therefore, the primary object of the enterprise is planning and building of (conditioned) dry flue gas cleaning plants that clean flue gases from incineration plants using highly efficient additives and adhering to the strictest environmental standards.

For us, an ecological and economical technology means that the frequently arising conflict between adherence to lowest possible emission values and low investment/running costs is solved by exhausting available knowledge and using a mature, easy-to-operate technology.

The team of engineers supporting us in this consists of experienced colleagues working in the areas of design, quality and deadline assurance, as well as assembly coordination, integration of measuring and control technology and commissioning.

Should you be in a position where you face changes, rebuilding or new building or system optimization in the sector of flue gas cleaning, we would be pleased to offer you theoretical and practical support.

Our services for you

We are working on:

Planning and building of new innovative flue gas cleaning plants
Reconstruction/improvement of existing plants based on the most recent knowledge
Technological optimization of existing systems
For these purposes, our range of performance comprises all project phases from identifying the problem, via elaboration of concepts adapted to the system, up to implementation of the best concept in form of a turnkey solution. After the running plant has been handed over, we can on request also assume the after sales service.

Our range of offers in plant engineering comprises:

Turnkey flue gas cleaning plants
Electric and fabric filters
Additive storage, batching and conveying devices
Residue facilities, from conveying, storing up to loading
Evaporation cooler
Spray absorber
MPI system-based solids distribution systems
DeNOx processes (SNCR or SCR)
Heat exchangers for further exploitation of the flue gas heat

Wet flue gas cleaning (wet scrubbing)

Scrubbers are used in wet flue gas cleaning for cleaning the flue gas. In the scrubbing zone, the pollutants contained in the flue gas are separated through an intensive contact with the scrubbing water by means of physical or chemical absorption.

In the first stage of wet scrubbing, primarily HCl, HF, mercury compounds, dust, heavy metals bound in particles and gaseous heavy metals are absorbed in the acid scrubbing water. In the second stage, primarily SO2 is absorbed in a suspension of lime hydrate or sodium hydroxide solution (NaOH).

Wet flue gas cleaning facilities are often completed by a preceding stage for dust separation upstream of the scrubber and a downstream super-fine cleaning stage for organic compounds and heavy metals.

Quasi-dry flue gas cleaning (spray absorption)

For the quasi-dry flue gas cleaning, suspensions or solutions are distributed in the flue gas flow by means of a spray absorber with rotary distributor or two-component nozzles.

The acid flue gas components are absorbed in alkaline droplets with simultaneous water vaporization.

For the separation of organic pollutants and heavy metals, an adsorbent (e.g. coke dust) can be added upstream, in or downstream of the spray absorber.

The reaction products are separated in a downstream dust filter (fabric or electric filter).

Dry flue gas cleaning (dry absorption, conditioned dry absorption)

In the process of dry flue gas cleaning, the flue gas, if necessary, is moistened and cooled upstream of the actual reaction stage. This is done, on the one hand, for protecting the filter (temperature) and, on the other hand (if lime is used), for moistening the flue gas up to the dew point range.

In order to bind the pollutants contained in the flue gas flow, such as hydrochloric acid (HCl), sulphur dioxide (SO2), organic pollutants (e.g., PCDD/-DF, PCB) as well as ecotoxic heavy metals (e.g., mercury), in the downstream reaction line sorbents, such as NaHCO3 or lime hydrates and hearth furnace cokes are a metered addition.

The reaction products are efficiently separated by means of a downstream filter and recirculated, if necessary.
