Tradition and History Everyone was struggling in the Great Depression Era. The year was 1932 and Daniel F. Richard saw a need within his own family and the community around him where he could help. And in that instant a family business was born out of the homestead. All of the Richard family was involved in making this a success. Daniel F. delivered the fuel, while his wife Armandé took care of the bookkeeping and the children. When the boys, Normand, Raymond and Robert were old enough to help deliver the fuel and hand Dad the tools he needed, they went to work. Anita began working in the office when she was old enough. Over the years, D.F. Richard Energy consistently grew to meet the ever-changing energy needs and demands of customers in southern Maine and the Seacoast of New Hampshire. From propane gas to Bioheat® oil, complete heating and cooling systems and energy conservation products, more and more customers have come to rely on D.F. Richard Energy. It is a true family business with a focus on exceptional customer service, reasonable prices and premier products and services. To this day, you will find Robert and Raymond in the office daily. D.F. Richard Energy continues to be an integral part of all of the communities it serves and supports.

Weve Got Energy
To make life easier, we will set up automatic deliveries.
We forecast when youll need your next fuel delivery based on a degree day system, your average usage each season, as well as weather conditions. It is the responsibility of the owner or renter to ensure that a propertys heating system is being monitored to avoid any potential damage due to a loss of heat. It is also up to the owner or renter to provide safe access to the fill pipe/tank and the heating system. We provide 24 hour emergency service to our customers should a problem arise. Any changes to your household can directly affect your automatic delivery schedule such as, expanded living space, additional household members, installation or use of supplemental heat such as a pellet stove or burning wood to name a few. These can/will cause inconsistencies in your delivery history which is one of the important factors in automatic delivery calculations. Please keep us updated with any changes. See Keeping Seasonal, Rentals or Unoccupied Dwellings Safe for more helpful information.
Kerosene
Kerosene is for an outside tank that is exposed/affected by weather conditions. This oil will not freeze or gel in cold weather until it reaches on average 37-40 degrees below zero. This is why we choose to use kerosene vs. a blended oil. Blended oil can gel in extreme cold weather, causing your system to stop working.
