History

Dew Oil Company is a third generation family owned business that was founded in 1949 by Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Dew (Lila).  The initial business began as an Esso distributorship providing propane, fuels and lubricant sales and services to Residential, Commercial, and Industrial customers. Originally, they also installed and serviced Heating and Air Conditioning units, stoves and fireplaces for residential customers while providing products and service to farmers, loggers, paper mills, and other industrial facilities.

In 1974, Eugene and Lila’s only son, Sandy joined the family business. As the industry changed and evolved in the 1970’s and 1980’s, Sandy expanded the business into the convenient store business with both North and South Carolina locations.  In 1978, Sandy opened his first convenient store in Wilmington, NC and in 1983 opened three convenient stores in Myrtle Beach and Murrell’s Inlet, South Carolina.

In 1984, Sandy also saw an opportunity for expansion in the Bulk Hazardous Chemical Transportation business delivering bulk hazardous chemicals to paper mills and other facilities along the Southeast. Dew Transport Company was incorporated in 1991. With the dedicated assistance of Elvin Mintz (deceased 2015), the fleet has expanded to 15 trucks and 21 tankers.

In 2016, Sandy’s daughter, Lila Virginia (Gina) Dew Taylor, joined the family business. Along with her husband David Taylor and life-long employee, Gerald (Buddy) Smith, they will be moving the company forward.  Only our dedication to safety and service, along with the best interest of our customers can our business continue to grow and prosper.

Products

Dew Oil Company provides Propane, Fuels and Lubricants to your home, business or industry. We will gladly deliver Propane for your gas stove, gas grill, gas logs, gas water heaters or Kerosene for home heating. If you are a business or industry, we will gladly set up tanks for On-Site fill up to fuel your equipment as well as provide Oils and/or greases to keep your machinery running smoothly. In particular, we offer Engine Oils, Hydraulic Oils and a variety of Greases, which we will gladly deliver to your business or site of operation.

As a Dew Oil Customer, after proper credit approval, you can elect to be put on our ‘Automatic Fill-Up’ list, which ensures a constant supply of product to your home or business when we are in your area. This type of regular, quarterly service allows you an additional savings on your per gallon price. We are able to service you when we are in your area, which creates a savings for you. Or, you may simply ‘Call-in’ the office and we will gladly make a special trip to your home when you are ready for our services. Either way, you can have peace of mind knowing that when you work with Dew Oil Company, we provide, install, test and service the tank size needed to accommodate your propane and fuel needs for your home or business.

We offer a diverse selection of products and tank storage options to meet your needs and provide reliable home delivery. Commercial     

Let us come to you! We will gladly deliver any of our products directly to your job-site. Whether you are a logger, farmer, builder/developer, school or Fire Department,  Dew Oil Company will gladly coordinate an ‘On-Site’ refill program with you to keep your equipment and/or fuel tanks filled with product on a regular schedule. ‘On-Site’  tanks provide a safe and convenient way to maintain your operational needs without having to stop and re-fuel your own equipment, which takes time away from your businesses productivity. Industrial 

    Dew Oil Company offers service to manufacturing and/or production facilities in the Tri-County area.
