Working in close alliance with our own collection and processing professionals at DAR PRO Solutions and DAR PRO Ingredients, we have pioneered the use of recycled animal fats and used cooking oils in the production of renewable fuel. Only DAR PRO Bioenergy is able to collect our customers fats and oils, and at one of our own three processing facilities, convert it into renewable fuel that they could be using to power the trucks bringing their next delivery.

Creating renewable resources from organic residuals

DAR PRO Bioenergy works in close alliance with DAR PRO Solutions and DAR PRO Ingredients to create sustainable and efficient feed and fuel solutions for our world.  Our Solutions team collects used cooking oil and inedible fat & bone material from our restaurant and super market customers.  Our Ingredients team processes this material, along with inedible co-products from their meat processor customers, into biofuel feedstock that can be used in any of our three biofuel production facilities.  The material not used in biofuel is processed into ingredients such as fats and proteins that contribute to the nutritional balance and digestibility of pet food, animal feed and aqua feed.  Co-products from our renewable diesel production process are renewable propane, renewable butane and NAPHTHA, more commonly known as mineral spirits.

At DAR PRO Bioenergy, we take the used oil, fats and trap materials collected nationwide by DAR PRO Solutions and processed by DAR PRO Ingredients, and repurpose them – creating high-value biofuels to help meet the rising global demand for sustainable alternatives to petroleum diesel.  We mean it when we tell our customers that the used oils or animal co-products we collect from them today can be valuable resources tomorrow.  Almost 100% of the used cooking oil and approximately 50% of the animal fat and bone we collect is processed into biodiesel or renewable diesel at one of our three biofuel production facilities.  The material not used for biofuel is processed into fats, proteins, minerals and oils for use in a complex array of innovative and varied industrial and consumer applications that have helped make us a world leader in sustainable operations.

• We divert carbon- and nitrogen-rich materials away from the soil, surface waters, groundwater and the atmosphere through effective recycling
• We transform the carbon and nitrogen we capture into useful products, thus reducing the production of greenhouse gases that result when new products are produced and later discarded
• Our processing methods are the safer and more efficient alternative for handling these organic materials

ASTM standards

All our biofuel products are produced in adherence to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). Fuel producers, engine equipment manufacturers and third-party interests (users, government agencies, consultants) have the responsibility for setting these standards for both diesel fuel and biodiesel. ASTM fuel standards are the minimum accepted values for properties of the fuel to provide adequate customer satisfaction and/or protection.  DAR PRO Bioenergys Bio G-3000 and Rothsay Biodiesel both meet ASTM D6751. Diamond Green Diesel, our renewable diesel facility owned jointly by Valero Energy Corporation and Darling Ingredients, meets standard ASTM D-975.
