Cobalt Power Systems, Inc. has been installing complete residential and commercial photovoltaic (PV) and battery backup systems since 2003, and has grown organically over 14 years of operation. The company was founded by Mark Byington in the garage of his Los Altos home.

We initially focused on residential solar but expanded into the commercial solar market successfully several years ago. Cobalt is a SunPower Commercial Dealer and a few years ago, became the first SunPower Elite Dealer^TM in the nation, and was named SunPower Dealer of the Year in 2011. Cobalt is also a certified Tesla Powerwall Installer^TM. We see the integration of energy storage as the next component of the company’s growth.

We have completed more than 1,700 commercial and residential solar PV installations throughout the Silicon Valley and the Bay Area. Our reputation in the solar industry is one of high-quality installations and great customer support. We base our business on customer referrals and go the extra mile for our clients. You will never get a phone solicitation from Cobalt or have someone at your door soliciting solar — we are different than most solar companies in that regard.
