History

In 1956, a professional engineer named A. Richard Ayers developed a product called the "Pre-Vent". Richard needed a place to manufacture his new product so he founded Central Illinois Manufacturing Company (CIMCO) in Bement, Illinois. The "Pre-Vent" is a fill cap with a pressure and vacuum release that reduces evaporation in gasoline storage tanks and helps maintain the quality of stored fuel. Over 50 years later, the "Pre-Vent" cap is still being manufactured by CIMCO. The young company struggled to exist with job-shop contracts, while Richard continued his research on a fuel filter requested by a large petroleum distributor. In 1958, the "Clean-Flow" filter was introduced to the market. It was followed by a "Gas-O-Line" series, now known as our 200 line. Later CIMCO established the trade name "Cim-Tek Filtration".  Over the years, the Company continues to innovate filtration and develop new products. It is a testament to our beginnings that all our original products — the "Pre-Vent" and 200 line filter — are available today. Now, Cim-Tek filters are available worldwide through our sales representatives.  Today, the Company continues as a family-owned and operated business. From the beginning, the key to success has been responding to customer needs in the changing world of filtration. Commercial Fueling

petroleum commercialfuelingCenturion and 800 Series filters are designed for gasoline, diesel, ethanol blends up to 10%, biodiesel up to B100, and ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD). Filters in this series feature a micron range between 2 -30 and a maximum flow rate of 90gpm. We have Cellulose (particulate removal), Microglass (high-performance particulate removal), and Hydrosorb (water and particulate removal) media available. 800 Series filters come standard with a pre-lubed gasket to simplify installation and ensure proper lubrication.

High Flow Filtration

  Crafted from Carbon Steel and able to handle a maximum flow range up to 500gpm, Viking high-flow housings are optimized for high-flow applications and compatible with a wide range of fluids including gasoline, ethanol blends up to E15, biodiesel blends up to B100, diesel fuel, ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) and fuel oils.  Vikings are also compatible with industrial fluids such as lube, gear, hydraulic, and synthetic oils.  Gauge kits are available if you want to monitor operating pressure.

Gasoline Fuel Treatment

Hydroburn G2  Hydroburn® uses a fuel additive to eliminate water and water-related problems in gasoline and ethanol-blended fuels, thus improving fuel quality and promoting more complete combustion in your engines and equipment. Cim-Tek® Hydroburn® for Gasoline can be used with both underground and above-ground fuel storage tanks. Available in 5-gal. pails.

Diesel Fuel Treatment

The result: your engines and equipment see higher fuel quality, more complete combustion, and increased MPG. For use in underground and above-ground fuel storage tanks. Available in 5-gal. pails.

Multi-Fuel Filters

Cim-Teks full line of Made in the USA Multi-Fuel monitors can be used with both straight gasoline and ethanol-blended fuel up to 25%. They remove particulates like dirt, dust, and rust from fuel while detecting water in straight gasoline AND detecting phase separation in ethanol blends up to E25. Phase separation can occur in ethanol-blended fuel when even small amounts of water come in contact with the fuel. When water in straight gasoline or phase separation in ethanol blends is detected, the filter will go into slow flow, indicating a serious issue. The use of our Multi-Fuel filters can help prevent costly damage to vehicle engines by signaling, by way of slow flow, the operator should take action to remedy the problem.
