ITOCHU, since its foundation in 1856, has been one of the largest international trading conglomerates headquartered in Tokyo and Osaka, having approximately 110 bases in more than 60 countries with over 100,000 group employees. As an integrated cross-industry company, ITOCHU is not only engaged in the E&P sector, but also synergies with other businesses i.e. trading/crude marketing, plant and pipeline business. ITOCHU is also participating in the ACG and BTC Pipeline Project in Azerbaijan, Sakhalin 1 Project in East Siberia, the West Qurna 1 Project in Iraq, Ras Laffan LNG Project in Qatar, the Qalhat LNG project in Oman and the Oman LNG project through an equity share holding. ITOCHU is also a LNG off-taker for the Oman LNG project. ITOCHU also has a crude oil trading hub in Singapore.
