Chemviron Midwest provides technical services to petroleum, chemical, industrial, and manufacturing companies in the United States. Many of these projects, such as those at petroleum refineries, have required complex and multi-disciplinary efforts to resolve unique environmental problems. Projects at other facilities, such as those owned by retail fuel operators, have used Chemviron mobile treatment units to remediate soil and ground water contamination.
The Chemviron business philosophy is that service and responsiveness are paramount to clients. This belief has enabled Chemviron to provide unique technical performance delivered within budget and on time. Chemviron is committed to safely delivering the highest quality products and services. At the same time, Chemviron will continually look for ways to improve services and maintain cost effectiveness.
ECONOMICS - THE CHEMVIRON COMPETETIVE EDGE
Studies have shown that Chemviron trailer mounted, dual-phase extraction systems are more cost effective than permanently installed systems or simple "vac-truck" events Permanent systems require significant capital investment in equipment and materials, as well as underground piping installation and construction of a building. Installation of a permanent system can disrupt business at a busy retail site, often for several weeks. And as shown in the graphs, Chemviron systems can achieve contaminant reduction at a rate equal to a permanent system at one-third the cost. Simple "vac-truck" events are supervised by a engineer, and can only be conducted for 12 hours or less. Studies comparing the two types of systems have revealed that automated Chemviron units can be operated continuously for seven days (168 hours) at the same cost as a 12-hour visit by a vac-truck. Applying an accurate vacuum at an exact depth and developing optimum mass removal rates are hard to accomplish with a vac-truck. Samples are hard to collect, and the instrumentation needed to monitor and analyze the contaminants is not a part of most vac-truck rigs. While they do offer portability, the limitations of vac-trucks make them unacceptable in situations that require a fully instrumented, automated operation.
CMI Series Remediation Systems: the subsurface extraction and in situ treatment technologies needed for your site-specific conditions combined with industry standard liquid and off-gas treatment technologies in a variety of enclosures
All available as stand alone technologies or in combinations to meet your specifications. Equipment platforms available include a number of different trailer sizes and axle/weight combinations, pre-fab buildings and custom enclosures built to fit site-specific requirements.
CMI PRODUCTS
Trailer mounted systems Chemviron builds out full scale remediation systems in trailers for use at multiple site and for ease of transport. Typical trailer capacities range from 3,000 lbs. up to 15,000 lbs. Options include fully insulated walls, floor and ceilings; XP heaters, ventilation, lights and cooling equipment; water-proof coatings on floor and walls; full liquid containment barriers with interstitial liquid monitoring; multiple rooms for XP and non-XP rated equipment; weight-bearing jacks; structural, wind and snow load compliance with building codes; sound attenuating insulation; NRTL certification.
Pre-fabricated Enclosure Based Systems Chemviron builds out full scale remediation systems in pre-fabricated buildings or containers for use on sites requiring permanent systems, or for locations where trailers are not permitted. Typically these systems are built out in our manufacturing facility and shipped complete to the jobsite.
Permanent Enclosures Chemviron builds out full scale systems in stick-built and contracted structures on-site with component pieces shipped in and integrated at the jobsite. These structures comply with all building and electrical codes. Typically, the equipment components are built out in our manufacturing facility, shipped to the project and integrated at the jobsite.
CMI Manufactured Components
• Control Panels:CMI builds out custom designed UL listed process control systems for each remediation system we manufacture.
• PLC Equipment and Programming: CMI’s control systems are typically PLC based, designed and programmed in-house. Cell Phone Telemetry Equipment: CMI integrates cell phone technology for remote system alarm callouts, data logging and control monitoring.
• Oil Water Separators. CMI designed and built oil water separators utilize coalescing filter packs, product weirs and pump-out sumps at flows up to 50 gpm.
• Air Strippers. CMI designed and built diffusion-type air strippers are capable of removing up to 99.99% of the VOC load in contaminated groundwater at flows up to 50 gpm. CMI air strippers are built for easy operator access and maintenance.
• Air Water Separators. CMI designed and built air water separators can handle vacuums to 28 inches Hg and come sizes up to 3,500 gallons. Typical configurations include 200 gallons storage capacity with pump float assembly and 12 inch bulkhead for easy cleanout.
