Central Iowa Power Cooperative is committed to providing safe, reliable and affordable electric service to our Member-owners. We take pride in providing efficient and sustainable sources of energy and linking them to our Member-owners in a way that reduces our carbon footprint and minimizes the impact to the environment.

We are a member-owned not-for-profit electric cooperative  generating  and transmitting  power to our 13 member-owned rural electric cooperatives and associations. CIPCO is a cooperative energy provider celebrating more than 70 years of service to our member systems.

ENERGY PORTFOLIO

   Our sun provides an enormous supply of light energy that can be collected with photovoltaic panels and converted into electricity. Solar energy provides an abundant supply of clean electricity to benefit CIPCO Member-owners.   Solar generation comes in many forms: residential, community and cooperative-scale. In 2016, CIPCO launched the state's first utility-scale solar project to take advantage of economies of scale and allow all our members within the system to benefit from solar energy. Cooperative-scale solar provides electricity during high demand period at a stable price.   As a sustainable corporate citizen, CIPCO is committed to supporting environmentally-friendly energy resources.
