Dr. Shawn Xiaohua Qu founded Canadian Solar Inc. in October 2001 and is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Under Dr. Qu’s leadership, Canadian Solar has grown into one of the world’s largest solar photovoltaic products and solutions providers, as well as one of the largest solar power plant developers globally. In the past 18 years, Canadian Solar Inc. has cumulatively delivered over 38 GW of solar modules to thousands of customers in more than 160 countries, enough to meet the needs of approximately 10 million homes. The Company and its subsidiaries have also cumulatively connected over 4.7 GW of solar power plants to the grid across six continents. Canadian Solar Inc. is a public company and has been listed on the NASDAQ since 2006. Prior to founding Canadian Solar Inc., Dr. Qu worked at ATS Automation Tooling Systems in Canada and its subsidiary Photowatt International in France. Previously, Dr. Qu also worked as a Research Scientist at Ontario Hydro (now Ontario Power Generation).    Dr. Qu holds a Ph.D. degree in Material Science from the University of Toronto, a M.Sc. degree from the University of Manitoba and a B.Sc. degree from Tsinghua University.
