Calumet Pipeline Transportation ships petroleum products in the Midwest and on the East Coast.Calumet Pipeline LLC owns a pipeline system which was previously used to move petroleum products from Hammond, Indiana to Calumet Harbor in Chicago, where products were put on barges and tankers for distribution over the rivers and lakes. Calumet Pipeline LLC is proposing to reverse this system, and use it as part of a water and rail based transportation project from Ohio to Chicago which could transload inbound Diluent and Condensate to local consumers and to the pipelines which transport diluent to Canada.  Calumet Harbor works great as a transload point for inbound Marcellus and Utica diluent via the Inland River System, the Great Lakes, and the eastern Class I railroads. Together, the waterways work year round between Ohio and Chicago, and can accommodate 90,000+ barrel vessels and barges. In addition, local Chicago area short line railroads allow for connections to multiple eastern railroads.
