Lisa Lee Morgan co-founded CALOR ENERGY in 2008, and is the President and CEO of the renewable energy consulting company. As the majority owner of Calor, Morgan brings exceptional leadership skills and deep technical expertise to drive successful change in the business models for renewable energy projects and sustainable systems. She oversees the technical and financial feasibility studies for each of Calor’s client projects, managing a team of engineers, accountants and regulatory experts for every appraisal and design.
In January 2012 Ms. Morgan won the Energy Leadership Award from the Charlotte Business Journal, one of 10 executives to be honored for effectively influencing the city’s emergence as a global leader in the energy sector. Ms. Morgan’s leadership also played a pivotal role in CALOR’s recent recognition by the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association as the 2011 Business Leader of the Year. Her commitment to economic and environmental balance led to CALOR’s successful 2011 B-Corp certification, a visionary new standard for socially responsible companies.
Ms. Morgan’s technical proficiency and strategic acumen contribute to the success of eco-industrial parks and energy projects such as the 667-acre ReVenture Park in Charlotte. She has been responsible for directing projects in anaerobic digestion, waste gasification, and solar power, and analyzing the financial and technical feasibility of energy systems which integrate these technologies. She offers CALOR clients feasibility analysis and strategic planning for complex sustainable energy projects. She is a licensed architect and holds US Green Building Council LEED-AP accreditation. Ms. Morgan is a native of Charlotte, NC and a graduate of Princeton University with both a BA and Master of Architecture.
The daughter of Bill Lee, legendary CEO of Duke Energy from 1982-1994, Ms. Morgan is the founder and board chair of the Energy Park Foundation, a non-profit whose mission is to support the development of eco-industrial parks on post-industrial brownfield properties. She is a founding board member of E4 Carolinas, the bi-state energy business group that promotes the emerging Energy cluster in the two Carolinas. She currently serves on the advisory board of the UNC-Charlotte Infrastructure, Design, Environment And Sustainability (IDEAS) Center. Previous leadership includes the Levine Museum of the New South Board, UNC-Charlotte Foundation Board, Arts and Science Council Campaign Cabinet, Voices and Choices Environmental Summit, Charlotte Chapter of the US Green Building Council, Historic Charlotte Board, and the Carolina Theatre Preservation Society Board.
