Founded in 2006, CABA has worked both in-state and at the national level to address regulatory, policy, and legislative issues to enable a growing market for biofuels in California.Working with the National Biodiesel Board (NBB), the California Advanced Biofuels Alliance has been instrumental in working with the following agencies to achieve these results:
US EPA on design and implementation of the RFS1 and RFS2 programs
CDFA Division of Measurement Standards (DMS) on the fuel variance program and biodiesel pump labeling regulations
California State Legislature to get proper definitions for biodiesel and renewable diesel in California and ​​the passage of AB 1032, which corrected a tax problem for dyed biodiesel
California Air Resources Board (ARB) to complete the life-cycle analysis of recycled feedstock biodiesels to ensure that they received the full benefits of their low carbon properties and to provide guidance for mixed feedstock production CI values under LCFS
California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) to first provide a variance, then permanent regulations allowing owner/operators to store biodiesel, up to B20, in underground storage tanks (USTs)
