How Do Oil and Gas Compare?

Oil delivers more heat per unit of energy than other fuels.  A gallon of oil delivers 140,000 BTUs, while gas delivers only 100,000 BTUs per therm. One therm of gas does not generate as much heat as a gallon of oil. No fuel other than oil is a cheaper way to heat your home! Increased reliance on gas for electric generation and industrial processing is significantly increasing demand and pushing gas prices up even further.  Most important when you make a decision about your heating fuel choice, is that you get the unbiased answers to your questions.

• Heating oil is a cleaner fuel.
• It is estimate natural gas production creates up to 18% of total global methane emissions, greatly contributing to global warming and climate change problems.
• Heating oil systems last longer. The average life span of an oil heat system is 30 or more years if they are maintained well. In comparison, the average life span of a natural gas furnace is only 11-14 years.
• Natural gas boilers require less maintenance than oil burners, but a gas leak can be catastrophic. Heating oil on the other hand, will not ignite until 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Scientists have found that you can actually drop a match into a drum of oil and it will not ignite.
• Natural gas is explosive and can leak carbon monoxide which is harmful to people as well as the environment.
• Prices vary when it comes to Gas and Oil and depending on where you live and the economy will determine prices. Oil prices fell under natural gas prices in many parts of the world last winter and are expected to remain at the same or lower prices this season!

We offer a 24 hour a day / 7 days a week agreement that is reasonably priced, with maximum protection. You must be a Buy Rite Oil automatic delivery customer. A budget conscious agreement is also available that will help protect you for services during our normal business hours of 8am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. A water heater service agreement with the same Monday through Friday conditions as our Basic agreement is an option as well.   Buy Rite Oil has a long standing relationship with our service fulfillment provider.
